Based in Richmond, BC
A small guide crew that fishes Vancouver water every week
Fraser & Coast Sportfishing runs sturgeon and salmon charters on the Fraser River and the saltwater around Vancouver. We're building toward guided trips in other parts of Canada, but this coast is home.
Our story
We started with one jet boat, a trailer and a phone number passed around by word of mouth. The goal has not changed since: run a small operation where the person who answers the phone is the person who takes you fishing. No packed group boats, no rushed half-days disguised as full ones, and no promises about fish we can't keep.
Today we run charters from Steveston Harbour, Richmond BC from March through November, and we're planning seasonal trips to other Canadian rivers as the crew grows.
Safety and licensing
Every guide holds Transport Canada SVOP and MED A3 certification, Marine Basic First Aid, and a current Pleasure Craft Operator Card. The company carries commercial liability insurance and is licensed to guide anglers on tidal and non-tidal water in British Columbia. Floatation is supplied and worn, and we carry a full safety kit, VHF and a satellite communicator on every trip.
How we work
Local knowledge
We fish the same water year-round, not a seasonal route. Conditions change weekly and we plan around them.
Modern, maintained boats
Heated cabins, clean decks, full electronics and current safety inspections on every hull.
Small groups
Two to four anglers. You get coaching and rod time, not a spot in a crowd.
Conservation minded
Strict catch-and-release on sturgeon, careful handling on salmon, and we fish inside every DFO opening.
